Part-time employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis will be able to accrue PTO hours on a prorated basis. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours per week on a regular basis, Interns, On-Call and Temporary Employees are not eligible for PTO. PTO is designed to cover leave, in addition to vacation, for personal time, doctor’s appointments, personal illness or time off to care for dependents. Relevant experience determination will be at the sole discretion of BL as follows: ▪ New employees’ relevant experience will be set and communicated in the offer letter. ▪ Increases to employees’ PTO accruals will take place on their BL Companies’ employment anniversary date after reaching a milestone in their years of relevant experience. All accrued vacation time that employees have earned at the time of the transition to PTO will be included in their individual PTO account and be subject to the treatment of the PTO policy. All accrued sick time that employees have earned at the time of the transition to PTO will be placed in individual transition sick accounts for each employee. This account of time will be available to cover sick time for you for your injury or health and mental

condition. You can also use this sick time to cover for a portion of the Short-Term Disability (STD) waiting period if the employee’s illness qualifies for STD benefits. An employee’s transition sick account is not provided upon separation from employment. For new hires PTO time begins to accrue during the Introductory Period and it cannot be used until the Introductory Period has been successfully completed. The use of PTO must be approved, in advance, by the employee’s Supervisor, except in the case of illness or emergency. Employees should request time off in writing at least two (2) weeks in advance. Requests for time off will be reviewed based on work schedules and other employees’ time off requests. Employees may use only accrued PTO and cannot use PTO that has not yet accrued. If an Employee does not have PTO time available for vacation or personal time, time off will be unpaid. However, exempt employees may take PTO without pay only in increments of a day and by requesting such time off in writing. If an Employee does not have PTO available for sick time, the Employee will be allowed to go negative up to five (5) days with their Director’s approval. The maximum amount of PTO an Employee can carry forward from year-to-year is 1.5 times the number of hours he or she can accrue in a year and it will be determined
