MEETING ACTIVITIES Pictograms

o At Cohort meeting - passed out one pictogram at a time, gave each time to work through, then asked for volunteer - made sure each person/team was called on for a pictogram.  Purpose was to not only have an acronym AT DR CCS Lab to help remember the core competencies but to have picture (people learn differently) - and to have FUN. o Assignment for the next Cohort meeting was for each Member to take one of the behaviors that they thought was important and create a Pictogram.  At the meeting we did a similar exercise for determining what it said and each person discussed why that behavior was important (both at work and in life).

Lunch Bag Exercise o Asked each member to bring their lunch in a bag decorated (in their own style) with the Leadership Competency that they were most passionate about. o We took pictures and sent them to the people in the other offices.  o We went one by one and the team tried to guess the competency from the picture and why they thought it might be important to that person. o The person constructing the bag then described why they picked that competency, what it meant to them personally and professionally. o Learning included:  Get to know what is important to each of the members, continue to build trust  The discussion identified how the competency (and pictures) build in more than one competency and how multiple are needed to be effective (e.g., client focus also needs good communications)  At the end, discussed how leading and managing change (e.g., going from the company buying lunch for our meeting to us bringing something) can be done in such a way that it is perceived positively.  At the time we did it, we were just starting to scale back on expenses and look at force adjustments.  Reinforcement of what are the competencies.
