Yes “In the Round” – New Haven Coliseum – 1978. I was 14 years old

ROBERT BURKE My first concert was to see Poison / Tesla at the Civic Center in Asheville NC in 1989. My girlfriend surprised me buying tickets for my birthday for us to go. It was amazing! My best concert was Woodstock ‘94 which was an American music festival held in 1994 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original Woodstock festival of 1969. Twenty-five years later comes Woodstock ‘94, billed as “Two More Days of Peace & Music.” It took place in Saugerties, N.Y., Aug. 13-14, 25 years to the days after the original Woodstock Festival in Bethel, N.Y., came to symbolize the spirit and consciousness of ‘60s youth culture. I was taking summer school and a Sustainability course at the Yestermorrow Design Build School in Warren Vermont in place of a semester of Architecture school studio 4th year. I went to the concert with friends from Burlington VT, they had to leave early on Saturday to be at work on Monday morning, traffic took forever to get anywhere, it was packed, but I didn’t have to work, so I stayed and saw that last day of music on my own and then I hitchhiked back to Burlington. We were camping, so they left me with the supplies of a whole group. I walked around selling and trading on Sunday making a killing and making new friends. Featured acts included Aerosmith, Metallica, Peter Gabriel, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arrested Development, Bob Dylan (with a, and possibly The, Band), Santana and Crosby, Stills & Nash (the only comeback kids), Green Day, Allman Brothers, Spin Doctors, Cranberries, Nine Inch Nails, Cypress Hill, Alice in Chains, Henry Rollins, the Neville Brothers, Melissa Etheridge, Porno for Pyros and Johnny Cash. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were quite memorable when they came on stage dressed as giant light bulbs and played.
