Exposure Monitoring When Employees are expected to come in contact or work with silica-containing materials, BL Companies may conduct initial air monitoring to determine the levels of respirable crystalline silica that Employees may be exposed to. Exposure monitoring will be conducted on any Employee exposed to airborne silica dust as levels may vary based on job duties within a project. It is the responsibility of the affected department to work with the Safety Committee to develop a periodic exposure monitoring schedule. controls, to the extent feasible, to limit Employee exposures to the PEL of 50 µg/m3 as an 8-hour time weighted average, and supplement the controls with respiratory protection, when necessary (Refer to Section 7.1). 7.10 Lead Awareness Purpose The purpose of this section is to provide awareness to those employees who are at a higher risk of encountering lead containing materials to mitigate potential exposure. Scope Employees that perform lead chip sampling will have, at a minimum, Lead Awareness Training. Some states require licensure, certification and training as a Licensed Lead Inspector (Connecticut). Policy Lead Awareness training will be provided for all employees who may be exposed to lead containing materials on the job. An initial decision regarding the need for lead awareness training will be determined at the time of hire based on the Medical Surveillance form. If Lead Awareness Training is determined to be necessary, the employee shall obtain the training prior to any field assignment. Any current employee that is changing job position will be evaluated for Lead Awareness Training and obtain the training prior to any field assignment. All refresher training is required annually. Engineering Controls BL Companies will use engineering and work practice

protected from exposure. Employees will be provided with any information and assessments of the work area and potential lead containing materials. If accidental exposure occurs, employees shall be removed from the work area until the breach is repaired, and an initial exposure assessment is performed.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for chip sample collection may include the following:

· A half-face respirator equipped with HEPA cartridges · Disposable gloves · Respirator wipes · Hand wipes Lead Awareness Training Lead awareness training will be provided in compliance with 29 CFR 1926.62 (l)(1)((i) and Hazard Communication Standard § 1910.1200. Training shall be documented with date of training, trainer name and attendee names. Documentation shall be maintained in employee records. · Health Effects – Reproductive/Developmental Toxicity, CNS effects, Kidney Effects, Blood Effect, Acute Toxicity Effects · 29 CFR 1926.62 standard and contents · Materials that may contain lead (paint, solder, pipes, batteries, cathode ray tubes, circuit boards, leaded glass, demolition/salvage materials) · Operations which could expose employees above action level and methods to prevent disturbance of lead containing materials · Compliance with warning signs, labels, assessments and reports to prevent disturbance of lead containing material · Respirator purpose, selection, fit, use and limitations · Washing of hands and face if contact with lead containing materials occurs. Lead Awareness Training will include the following elements:
